Need to get everybody out of the house? 🌳
From playgrounds and splash pads to bike paths, pickleball courts, disc golf and places to let the dog run, Mt. Juliet has quite a few places to get outside — including a few you might not even know are there.
Here are some of our favorite parks + places to play around town.
CHARLIE DANIELS PARK
If you want a little bit of everything, this is the one. Charlie Daniels Park is home to Planet Playground, Squirrel’s Run toddler park, Ava’s Splash Pad, a skate park, basketball, sand volleyball, tennis and pickleball courts, plus a walking track that connects to the Cedar Creek Greenway.
Best for: A full afternoon with the kids
Buzz Tip: Bring swimsuits during splash pad season — it’s very hard to convince kids they’re only going to the playground once they see the water. 😂
HAMILTON-DENSON PARK
One of Mt. Juliet’s newer parks, Hamilton-Denson is a great option for a playground day with plenty of room to get outside. It also connects with the Town Center Trail system, making it an easy place to combine playtime with a walk or bike ride. The city’s current map lists playground, trail/greenway access, open fields, restrooms and other amenities here.
Best for: Playground + walking or biking
Buzz Tip: A good one when you want something a little less busy than Charlie Daniels.
MUNDY MEMORIAL PARK
Mundy has a playground, walking track, tennis and pickleball courts, outdoor workout station, pavilion and multipurpose field. Leashed dogs are welcome in the park outside of the football complex, too.
Best for: Active families + pickleball
Buzz Tip: Let the kids hit the playground while you get some laps in on the walking track.
EAGLE PARK
This tiny park has a very specific purpose — kids on bikes! Eagle Park was originally created as an Eagle Scout project and is designed to help younger cyclists practice riding and bike safety.
Best for: Little bike riders 🚲
Buzz Tip: If your kid is learning to ride, put this one on your list.
ETHAN PAGE PARK
This quieter green space is home to an 18-hole disc golf course, making it a fun alternative when you want to do something outside besides the traditional playground trip. The city’s 2026 parks map confirms Ethan Page as a 9.83-acre city park with disc golf among its amenities.
Best for: Disc golf + a low-key outdoor afternoon
Buzz Tip: New to disc golf? The shorter course makes this a good place to give it a try.
JONES FAMILY PARK
Another one you may have driven past without realizing what’s there! Jones Family Park has a disc golf driving range, sand volleyball and a bark park.
Best for: Dogs + something a little different
Buzz Tip: This isn’t your traditional playground park, which is exactly why it’s worth knowing about.
ROBINSON FAMILY PARK
Looking for something quieter? Robinson Family Park is a Certified Wildlife Habitat with a walking trail and outdoor fitness equipment. The city’s greenway map lists the Robinson Park Trail at just under half a mile.
Best for: Walking + nature
Buzz Tip: Save this one for when you want to get outside without the playground chaos.
WILL SELLERS PARK
This south Mt. Juliet park packs quite a bit into a smaller space with a playground, pavilion, sand volleyball and a dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs.
Best for: Kids + four-legged kids 🐶
Buzz Tip: Bring everybody — there’s something here for both the kids and the dog.
Note: The dog park was temporarily closed for sidewalk improvements beginning in August 2026. Check its current status before heading over specifically for the dog park.
LONG HUNTER STATE PARK
Right on Percy Priest Lake, Long Hunter gives you a lot more room to explore with miles of hiking trails, lake access, picnic areas, fishing and boating. One of the best family options is the paved trail around Couchville Lake, and there’s even a short Reading Ranger Story Trail designed for kids.
Best for: Hiking + a lake day
Buzz Tip: Try the paved Couchville Lake loop when you want an easy family walk with pretty water views.
CEDARS OF LEBANON STATE PARK
Just south of Lebanon, Cedars of Lebanon is worth the short drive for hiking, picnicking, disc golf and exploring a completely different side of Wilson County. The park has around 10 miles of trails, including easy options, plus the Dixon Merritt Nature Center and an 18-hole disc golf course. It’s also known for its unusual cedar glades and limestone landscape.
Best for: Hiking + nature exploring
Buzz Tip: Stop by the Nature Center while you’re there — especially if you’re bringing kids.
